WINES FOR AUTISM
Grand River Cellars in Madison, Ohio has created two wines, Austin’s Red and Austin’s White, specifically to support our autism community. A portion of the proceeds from these wines are donated to NEOAG. This money is used to help fund our grant program to help organizations and schools in our area be the best they can be.
Austin’s Red is an exquisite dry, red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. Austin’s White is a wonderful semi-dry blend of equal parts of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Vidal Blanc. Both wines were created by award winning winemaker Ed Trebets.
Austin’s Red and Austin’s White are available for purchase at www.grandrivercellars.com or by calling 440.298.9838. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy Lindberg at 440.231.0991 or at grcinfo@grandrivercellars.com.
DESIGN A WINE LABEL CONTEST

NEOAG has teamed up with Grand River Cellars for the ‘Design a Wine Label Contest’. This contest is held annually and is open to pre-school and school-age children who have an official diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The children are invited to create a colorful piece of artwork that is featured on the labels of Austin’s Red and Austin’s White.
The deadline for entries this year’s contest is January 31, 2010. Email info@northeastohioautismgroup.org for an entry form. To see previous entries, please click here.
THE AUTISM RESOURCE CENTER LIBRARY PROJECT
NEOAG provides funds to area public libraries in order to create Autism Resource Centers. We establish centers within the libraries to provide the most up-to-date information that is available in order to keep the public as educated as possible. The resources are all included in one area, which makes it easier to find books on autism – whether medical, professional or juvenile.
If you would like to be a part of this project, you can dedicate a book to a loved one by completing the donation form available here. Your $25 donation will purchase a needed book that will be labeled on the inside cover per the donor’s specification. This book will then be included within one of the resource centers at the libraries. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact us at 440.488.3473.
